At Van’s Sport Center you can expect to see the full line of Evinrude E-TEC motors starting with the 15hp H.O. and running all the way up to the new G2 300hp models.
The new Evinrude two-stroke outboards are a lot quiter than your fathers old two-stroke he used to run. In fact, they are so exceptionally quiet, that they could be compared to a four-stroke based on what little noise they make. You might even have a hard time knowing that the motor is running after you start it up. The ETEC is a lot more than just a quiet outboard though. They deliver the torque and power that you would expect from a two-stroke motor while producing 80% lower carbon monoxide emissions than a four-stroke at idle. Talk about combining two-stroke power and four-stroke low emissions.
E-TEC's direct injection system sends the percise amount of fuel needed so you burn less at idle as well as throughout the RPM range. So when you really want get on the throttle and go, you'll feel that two-stroke power. They also require half the oil that a conventional direct injection outboard needs. Which means no worries about where the oil ends up because every drop of oil in the fuel mix goes into combustion and not the water.
Some of the most convenient features Evinrude engines offer would have to be that there is no break-in period, an auto-winterization mode, and they'll never need an oil change. The only dealer scheduled maintenance you will need on an E-TEC would be every three years or 300 hours. Which ever one comes first. So if your looking for a dependable two-stroke with outstanding performance and minimal maintenance, an Evinrude ETEC is what you need.
